in search of gloomy-but-great fall days...

all photos borrowed from miss genius jeannine over at papertissue,
and collaged by moi.

I am beyond antsy for fall.

Like, desperately hoping for a day that doesn't exceed 105... ready to put out the pumpkins, prep the snacky food for football Saturdays, throw on boots and a scarf, watch Maiz pounce on leaves.

Born and bred in this place called Texas, I'm highly accustomed to a scant season of crisp autumn days, but being that my mister is over there in a part of the country that happens to have gorgeous fall days, it's not helping my situation today... I am just clamoring like you wouldn't believe.

new skinny jeans.

cognac boots and tights.

uggs, too.

steamy apple cider.

foggy mornings.

shiny orange pumpkins.

thick scarves and cardigans.

FOOTBALL.

halloween.

fantastic foliage.

new sweaters for maizers.

apple picking, fall fests, hayrides and baking days.

prepping for a 5k without keeling over from heat stroke.

homemade chili, potato soup, chicken pot pie.

bike riding, hiking and roadtripping through tennessee.

my birthday and thanksgiving!! (conveniently on the same day this year)...

...but for now, I'll have to envision my fall days from the confines of my office, complete with my dirty chai--because the pumpkin spice won't be here for another week--and red velvet whoopie pie. (a highly recommended combo--slow summer day or not!).
