valentine's recap.

So, ST came in for Valentine's week and we had a ball... we do a pretty good job of spending actual holidays together, despite those 800 miles. I think the last technical holiday we weren't together was Halloween, but that one's not especially high on either of our lists due to the fact that we've passed the age of 11. And seeing as we manage to spend days like Labor Day and Memorial Day together, I think they cancel out the not-seeing-each-other-on-Halloween part. Meanwhile... Valentine's Day!

He surprised me with the most gorgeous arrangement I've ever seen, from my favorite florist. The only kicker was that my enclosure card said, "fall in love! -- sean." I was a little baffled and asked him if he dictated what to put on the card. He says, "well... of course." Me: "oh...okay." ST: "Why??" Me: "Well, it said 'fall in love.' ST: "Seriously?? It was supposed to say, 'with ALL my love!" ...so here, you see him pictured, changing up my enclosure card to reveal his original sentiments. :)

We shared sushi in my office...

...and ventured to the drive-in to see "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close."

We had my favorite fro-yo...

...and made a huge breakfast together, on Saturday...

I got the man to drink beer!!!! He's actually ordering it on his own... I'm officially blown away--he meets every requirement. Not that "beer drinking" is a requirement... but except for the part where it kind of is.

We had lots of snuggle time with le pups...

He showered me with fabulous presents for the holiday (not pictured: his equally fabulous North Face vest and Lacoste cologne)...

We finally sampled this local place called Megg's that was highly recommended... they had Trivial Pursuit cards on the tables for fun, and Sean and I had the entire wait staff laughing at our banter and mutual competitive drive... the food was amazing.

We shared some of their fabulous cupcakes...

It's so easy to see why I'm crazy about this guy.

And our Valentine's dinner was spent at Pignetti's, another local place that we'd tried to visit a few times, but it was always closed. We finally got to experience it, and again, it was well worth the accolades...

...and as every good meal ends with tiramisu, this one did not disappoint.

I promise to conclude with the mushfest after this comment... but ST does a great job of making me feel so loved. The entire weekend should've been a mutual holiday, but he did a fantastic job of electing to do the things I wanted to do... the movies I wanted to see, the dinners I wanted to eat... we're both pretty laidback, but picky in taste. He was unbelievably considerate. I'm so grateful for his loving heart.

Mushfest concluded.
