on the market.

Whilst indulging in movie nights, it's standard to fall in love with spacious historical homes, touting "oh, THAT'S exactly what I want. I'd SO live there." However, being that I am currently living solo, I like imagining what residences would fit well with my current living arrangement. That being said, I've never loved another fictitious apartment more than Miss Carrie Bradshaw's gorgeous brownstone in Greenwich Village. And right now, for the bargain price of $9.65 mill, it could be mine, all mine!!

Here's what the actual house (at 64 Perry Street) looks like today:

As any diehard SATC fan knows, Carrie's apartment got a revamp after the catastrophic heartbreak sunk in, thanks to Miss Jennifer Hudson. Any long-term, diehard fan knows that Aiden tried to help her renovate years ago when they were together... sorry for the reference. I truly love Big, but there was a time when I was just an Aiden girl. Moving on...

Anyone with a smidge of experience rifling through MLS listings could probably deliberate that a newspaper columnist wouldn't be able to hack a mortgage that this sort of establishment would demand. But whatever. I won't dwell.

Pre-disastrous, left-at-the-altar break-up and apartment revamp:

Post-Big break-up and apartment revamp:

There are parts to both versions that I adore... I think the original entryway is just so cozy and inviting. Then again, I love the pops of color in the revamped pad. I think the original bathroom and kitchen leave more to be desired (although, for NYC, I'm sure they're both palatial... amIright, Blair's Headband??), but I would donate a vital organ to medical science just to have that window overlooking the tree-lined street in the Village.

So now the question must be asked... what movie-made casa would you kill to call home??

  1. HAAAYYYY love the shoutout. I would personally prefer Charlotte's apartment or the "Breakfast at Tiffany's" place (which actually *was* for sale this past year), however I am an Uptown Girl through and through.

  2. Like BHB says, the Breakfast at Tiffany's place was pretty spectacular. But, my goodness, I feel like I've been to Carrie's place so many times. Wouldn't it be awesome to live there?

leave me some feedback. be honest! and play nice.
