It just occurred to me that I never divulged what I'll be doing in the next phase of life... obvs, you're aware that I'm off to Nashville. But, I'm just about as equally excited to reveal that I'll be planning donor events for Vanderbilt University!! You know that I absolutely love what I do--but Vanderbilt has always just been one of my places (I nearly applied as a high school student, but opted to stay home in Texas). I'm so excited to be doing what I love in a place I have so much respect and admiration for. The girls on my new team have already proven to be super sweet, and sharp at what they do. One of the women I interviewed with told me I'd fit right in with the crew--news I'm relieved and excited to hear. I love working in higher ed, and I love planning events. I'm not saving the world, but there's something hugely rewarding about honing one's skills to commit to a greater cause. No, I'm not performing brain surgery, but I'm channeling this type-A, hyper-organized, creative head of mine to contribute to something bigger than me, a cause and a task I can be proud of. I feel blessed beyond belief to have been able to have this much appreciation for my career, so early in life.
So, while I'll still be donning the green and gold, I'm making room for some black and gold as well... I'm off to the SEC!!
