blogging bandwagon ::: post one.

I've followed Jenna for a while now, in the blog world, so when I saw her little blog link-up challenge, I thought "why not?" I blog because I love it--I love the outlet, I love being able to write, I love story telling, I love meeting the incredible people I otherwise would have no way of encountering... so I'm not so much in this for the comments, but more to meet some more fabulous people--especially now that I'm a transplant in a new place!! So if you're interested, go check out her blog for all the deets... for now, I'll follow her prompt and offer a little bio for you, in case you don't know the basics on me!

Tell us about YOU! What's your name? Where do you live? Who lives with you? Do you work outside the home? Have kids? Pets? (Psst! Don't spill the beans about your blog or hobbies quite yet!).

Hey y'all! ;) I'm Megan--but odds are, if you're around me for a little while, you'll know me by "Meg," "Megs" or my last name, even. I blogged before blogging was what all the cool chicks were doing (heyyyy, xanga!), and in recent years have really loved the aspect of getting to know the faces and hearts behind some of the blogs that make me with girls I otherwise would probably not ever have the opportunity to meet. I'm a Texas girl, through and through. I love my home state more than I could ever sit and talk about--but that doesn't mean I don't try. Just seeing a Texas license plate when I'm cruising down the highway makes me completely giddy.

I moved to Nashville just about a month ago to be closer to my love of nearly four years, ST. I also have a sassy little maltese who will be five in October--my Maizie is my prissy fluff nugget. Sadly, I lost my yorkiepoo puppy, Milo, the night before I moved to Tennessee. He was hit by a car right in front of me, and I am still completely brokenhearted. My puppies are a huge, huge part of my world, and I'm learning how to live day-to-day with just one again. Sift back through some of my old posts for some precious pictures of him--he was a huge light in my life, and I miss him every single day. I'll be posting plenty more about him--just because he's not warmly curled up in my lap everyday doesn't mean he's not right beside me.

Professionally speaking (am I even old enough to say that?), I plan events for Vanderbilt University. I honestly have my dream job and am incredibly grateful to have found my niche in such a specialized area. Before I got to Vandy, I worked for my alma mater, Baylor University (sic 'em, Bears!!!). I have dabbled here and there, and eventually want to write a book. Stay tuned on that... ;)

My family is my heart, and I miss them so much. The oldest of four, (and the only girl!), my three brothers are all paving their way in this world, and I'm so proud to call them my brothers. My dad is the best guy I know, and my stepmom, Jules, is a godsend. I miss Texas dearly, but am over-the-moon excited for my new life in Nashville. ST and I have a lengthy list of to-dos for my first summer here, and I've had such a blast learning this place, so far!
