bibs: not just for babies.

I wasn't initially a huge fan of the whole bib slash statement necklace trend. I don't know, I guess I kind of expected it to resemble wearing chainmail, a la this:

But, like most trends (I said most--not all. Neon anything, and shoulder slits are still out of the question), I am a little cautious to jump in, headfirst, straight out of the gate (however, I clearly enjoy overlapping several cliche phrases together.) I am happy to report that I claim status as a full-fledged fan of the statement necklace. My top two drawers in our dresser are deemed "jewelry drawers," and are both crammed full of candy-colored beads--it's become an addiction.

I have yet to buy anything from Bauble Bar, but I'm a-thinking that might change soon. I love their stuff, and even more, loving the price points. Here are some of my favs right now:

The whole style is so simple, versatile and yet looks so girly and polished. It's the adult equivalent to playing dress-up, I think... we're allowed to throw something on that's just a little bit princessy--and yet it works. I've even found myself dressing FOR a necklace, if there's one I want to wear on any given day. Odd, I know. I have an alarming number of turquoise and coral colored gems, so I'm going to need to incorporate some more hues in my life rather soonish. I ordered the teardrop necklace in mint from ebay this week (super similar to Anthro's Stormy Seas necklace from a few seasons back), so I'm excited to get that puppy! My latest summer outfit would definitely have to be a jersey maxi dress paired with a big honkin' statement necklace. So easy. So comfortable. And BONUS: so many compliments.

Are you on-board with this craze?? Do you have a go-to source, or a go-to style for statement necklaces?

  1. I love the WTFF shoutout!!

"Just a bit princessy" is the perfect way to describe it. It's just a dress... and then with a statement necklace, you feel just a bit princessy.
