let the games begin.

This was supposed to be a pre-opening ceremonies post, but as life goes, it is now a mid-games report. You're welc.

Tell me you're watching the Olympics. Tell me you're as glued to the TV as I am. Tell me you yell at the screen too. Tell me you've cried at least once. Tell me the Opening Ceremonies gave you chills.

I am so ridiculously enthralled with the Olympics. Love everything about it... I've always been a sports fan, but there's a special place, deep in my heart for the summer games.

And men's swimming.

But that is neither here nor there.

Let's talk about Michael Phelps' incredible record. Let's talk about Oscar Pistorius' inspiring life. Let's talk about how adorable (and phenomenal) Missy Franklin is. Let's talk about how addictive it is to watch Misty May Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings smack around a volleyball. Let's talk about how amazing the sport of gymnastics is, as a whole--let alone how our U.S. girls are about as cute as can be. Let's talk about the insane precision of diving. Let's talk about how I'm watching sports like rowing and archery with an amount of zest and dedication that I didn't know existed.

I love it. I love it all.

Keep raking in those medals, kids. You're doing us proud.

Oh, and this is badass too.

Are you as obsessed as I am? What's your favorite event to watch?

  1. I think gymnastics is my favorite! I love track, swimming, and beach volleyball, too. And since I played soccer, I have to say that - although the women's team nearly put me in a coma during their game against Canada. Let's hope their match against Japan goes much more smoothly!

    1. it's all so addicting, isn't it?! I just realized powerwalking is a sport--maybe I could be an olympian after all...
