here lately. [the month of august.]

I feel like pretty much 83% of my posts are a borderline geriatric recap of "can you believe the year is flying by like this?!" and lucky for you, this is no different. But really? Life in Nashville is fabulous. I can say, (for the zillionth time), I know I am exactly where I belong, and the solidarity of that is so fulfilling for me. I am all kinds of excited about the impending season of autumn... leaves are starting to flank the roads, the mornings are cooler, college football began this weekend and candy corn and pumpkins fill store aisles more and more frequently... I love this time of year more than I could ever put into words, truly.

August was incredible. We were going, going, going, non-stop, and justlikethat--summer is winding to a close. Here's a little glimpse of our month in pictures...

We spent many o' lazy weekend, sleeping in and snugsing...

...feasting at lots of places we hadn't ventured to yet...

turkey burger @ burger republic. to quote one of my favs: "so much yes."

shrimp and lobster ravioli at our new italian place. unreal, I tell you.

...and drinking too, apparently. I was allll about this beer sampler situation.

We dabbled with a new hairstyle for Maizers...

We had a very Nashville-esque double date with Mrs. Smith and her Mister...

Cabana + Patterson House = SUCH a fun night.

Spent a date night at Puckett's!

ST surprised me with my first bit of Vandy garb...

Our little trio trekked out to the Williamson County Fair and had a BLAST. Can you believe it was the first time experiencing a fair for both of these boys?!

Little one wasn't thrilled about the idea of anything too high or too fast, but we all corralled together for a few loops on the ferris wheel and had the best time.

"spitting image" is the understatement, right? I love this snapshot.

I love this kiddo!!

...and it goes without saying that we loaded up on the fine cuisine. Funnel cakes, turkey legs, Arnie Palmies... the works.

I savored the variation in summer weather... lots of rain here. So uncharacteristic of my homeland.

My sweet stepmom sent me a fabulous care package, full of some of my favorites... but the postage might've been my favorite part.

We fiesta-ed with my favorite Nashville girls...

I bought my very first vinyl... which is completely incredible.

...and we were fortunate enough to score tickets to the live show, late in the month. Amazingly beautiful music.

The very next night, we soaked up my all-time favorite, favorite... Mr. Jason Mraz.

...more lounging...

...some exploring of Nashville...

...voyaged to east nashville for Jeni's. always for Jeni's.

...did some research with Maiz's assistance...

...took the plunge and indulged in some Maybooks for myself...

...assessed my statement necklace storage situation....

...remembered an old camp tradition (cinnamon ice cream and peanut butter)... a little too fondly, if ya know what I mean...

...soaked up our suburban lifestyle with the quintessential neighborhood stroll...

we weren't moving quick enough for this one.

...dominated some school projects...

...had some heart-to-hearts...

...shared some lunch hours (and more insanely delicious eats)...

...jaunted to Cabana again...

...filled the casa with flowers from a successful work event...

...did some more snugsing...

...fell in love with the ethereal beauty of this place all over again...

...and came home to this sweet face every day.

Phew. Yeah, I think that's about it... pretty amazing, if I say so myself.

What was the best part of your summer, so far??
