grammy commentary.

Did you watch the Grammys last week? I tend to not get too into the award shows, but I tuned in last Sunday as I waited for Chels to head over for GIRLS, and was pretty stoked to have witnessed some amazing performances.

 {the quality is awful, but you get the idea.}

It's gotten mixed reviews, but the tribute to Levon Helms made my night (and my week... I think I've managed to watch it four or five times since Sunday. DVR: it's a wonderful thang). Most of the performers were among my absolute favorites, and it was unreal to see the likes of Zac Brown and Brittany Howard performing alongside Elton John and Marcus Mumford... and "The Weight" easily takes a spot on my "most beloved jams of all time" playlist. Did you see it? What'd you think?

Here's a little more trivia for you... T-Bone Burnett was part of the menagerie of talent that contributed to the song. His name was vaguely familiar to me as a country music icon, but I couldn't place where I knew it. Lo and behold, after tuning into Nashville on Wednesday, I realized he was the executive music producer for the show. He's also married to the show's creator, Callie Khouri... small world we're living in, kids.

Anyway... I know we're a week past (and a week closer to Oscars), but tell me... what was your favorite part of the Grammys?
