Happy Monday! I trust you had a fabulous weekend and are raring to go for the inaugural week of May. I saw this image and couldn't resist posting... it echoes a sentiment my father relays to me at least once a week, on our phone sign-offs. His version: "have a great day, Meg, before some poor bastard screws it up for ya."
That? Is love.
...but also a reminder that so much of my mood (and maybe yours too) can be influenced by others. I'm a sensitive soul, but at the end of the day, it really is all a choice. As cliche as it all sounds, no one can get under your skin, unless you allow them the luxury. And it's my experience and belief that anyone who actually seeks to piss you off has issues within themselves that need to be tackled. End of story. I've heard from lots of friends lately about annoyances with family or friends or co-workers, so this just resonated with me over the past week. I think the lull of this time of year has a little something to do with it all too... but that's neither here nor there.
So, seriously... the next time someone says something pissy to you, flash them a bright smile, hold your head high, prance back to your perch and remember how much better off you are.
Keep your head up! Have a kick-ass-last-day-of-April!!
