rainy weekend retreat.
This week. Y'all.
Every single weekday demanded an endless load of to-do's and responsibilities (on top of my regularly scheduled meetings), and by the time Friday afternoon rolled around, I was unimaginably drained. The fact that my mom passed away four months ago on Wednesday just added to my zombie state.
I took the weekend forecast of steady rainstorms as a welcome reprieve from the week. I literally did nothing constructive yesterday.
Not a damn thing.
I mean... if you count testing out my new French press and flipping through the latest Marie Claire as a task, then okay. ST and I had a little screening of Les Mis (which he affectionately refers to as "Les Shiz"), and we managed to venture out to J. Alexander's for some din, but in terms of productivity, nada.
But you know... every now and then, it's completely necessary, am I right? The much-warranted detox. I can flip through the past four months of my planner and there's nary a weekend when we didn't have something planned, some event, some place to jet off to. I can't help but feel a tinge of guilt when I feel I didn't "accomplish" anything, but the recharging is part of the cycle too. And coincidentally, I stumbled across this checklist last night, which just validated my (non-)actions even further.
What's your favorite way to waste time on the weekends?
