Saturday, ST and I are walking in honor of my mom at Nashville's MS Walk. I've participated before, but this year is obviously different. There are walks and runs and marathons all over our country nearly every weekend, each tied to a specific cause. And this one is mine.
I am raising funds in her honor--you can read more about our story here and here. If you feel so compelled, I would really appreciate anything you could offer. MS affects so, so many people all over the world, and it shows its ugly face in a range of different forms. The MS that strikes today's society isn't the same illness that attacked my mom... back in the early 90s, there wasn't the resources or technology for the treatments and medications that are available now. Due to donations, the outlook for today's patients is much brighter, and I'm trying to do what I can, in my mom's name, to contribute anything I can to help put an end to this disease.
If you have any questions about MS, I'd love to try to answer them. For my entire life, as long as I can remember, my mom suffered from MS, and if possible, I'd love to help anyone who has gone through the same experiences.
I know it's not my typical snark, but thank you for reading this, for all the prayers for my mom, my family and me throughout the past several months.
