five on friday.

Yowza, where has fall gone? I mean, really. I had sulked through late summer, earnestly waiting on fall, and now, I'm making a list of gifts to buy, forming our holiday menu, and considering whether or not it's too early for Christmas music jam sessions (it's not).

Luckily, I'm shamelessly addicted to documenting my every day, so I have a slew of iphone pictures to remind me that, no, fall didn't just evaporate into thin air. I've been living life, traveling here and there, doing my thing. I may not have gotten around to actually jotting down that fall bucket list, but that didn't prevent me from accomplishing a few of the feats I imagined would be on there.

So there. Take that, ridiculous type-A, planning personality.

Here's a little of what's gone on over the past month or so...

Yes, we ventured back to the motherland for Baylor homecoming and to spend a few days with my beloved, crazy crop of family and friends. It wasn't long enough--it's never long enough (twss), and I just loved every second of being home. Home with ST always feels fuller, brighter--like all of the pieces are perfectly in place. Baylor football won (obviously... anticipate a future post on our unprecedented 8-0 season. I am psyched about this), I got to love on my best friend and her sweet baby boy, and carry on the tradition of lunch with my old work girls. I can't even tell you how much I miss their sweet faces.

 shorty's. always shorty's.

my guy... always a trooper, partaking in the girls' dates.

  a sight for sore eyes.

 my beautiful best, best friend.

skipping the parade (and whistling cold morning) in favor of snuggling on my parents' couch.

my last game at floyd casey.

jack and his snacks.

sunday brunch with my folks.

spending backyard time with ben the beast.

ST guiding my baby cousin on the intricacies of some black sabbath.

sweet maiz couldn't hack the drive... in the six years I've had her, she's never slept in the car!
and we've logged a lot, a lot of miles. she's so funny.

2. First Annual BYOP and Chili Feast

We hosted our first annual BYOP and carving fiesta (name credit to AM, obvi), and gorged on chili, courtesy of my stepmom's fabulous recipe.

...which was also in conjunction with sweet Maizie face's SIXTH birthday! Just when I think I couldn't love her any more...

3. Baptism

Before the end of October, in all of my 27 years, I'd never been baptized. I had had plans to at one point or another, but it never quite fell into place, and we weren't baptized as babies, because our parents wanted us to have the option to decide for ourselves. When I learned that our church was hosting a baptism service--their last of the year (we only have about 3-4 a year)--I knew I had to. It was just time. Baptism was something I always wanted to do, but for some reason or another was always held back, until now. And I'm so, so happy I did it.

4. Maizie, here lately

Maizers had her semi-annual haircut and looks ridiculously adorable.

...but before she got clipped and snipped, she donned the ol' witch costume for our Halloweening.

5. Girls' Lake Trip

At the beginning of the month, along with all my best girlfriends, I ventured a little east of Nashville for a fantastically relaxing weekend in a little lakeside cabin. We had such an absolute blast, and it was the perfect escape for all of us. I haven't laughed that hard in years, and I just keep thanking my lucky stars for such a fabulous group of beautiful, thoughtful, committed girlfriends. So much laughing. So much snugsing on the porch while the rain rolled in. So much fun. It was exactly what I needed.

So... whoa. There you go. My life, in a nutshell, over the past month. In a way, I'm impressed that I was able to limit it to just 100 photos, knowing the way I am with this iphone camera trigger finger.

For now, I'm prepping for Thanksgiving and my birthday, finalizing Christmas shopping gift ideas, readying myself for NYC and deciding what we'll be doing for New Year's Eve... and maybe even going to a Baylor bowl game. Just not sure a trip to the inevitable Pasadena is in the cards just yet... ;)

Have a great weekend, y'all!

What's on your plate lately? What have you got going on?
