thank you.

One of my identifiers that I'm proudest of would have to be the fact that I was privileged to be born into a military family. I am overwhelmingly proud of my brothers and my dad for their service to our country. From an early, early age, I just knew we were a little different. That not everyone had the same upbringing that I did. My parents instilled in us an immense sense of pride, an unending love of country, and my brothers felt called to serve--even in the midst of all the uncertainty of a post-9/11 America.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the millions who have served, who are serving now. Thank you to your families. Thank you for the holidays you'll miss with your sweet loved ones, for the little moments you will have to read about in an email. Thank you for forgoing the familiarity of everyday life here for the chaos and uncertainty that military life is known to bring.

I can't say it enough. We are forever indebted to you. Thank you.

Love you, Josh and Tyler! You're my heroes!
