one year ago.

As any news headline will scream to you, a year ago today, the horrific massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary happened. I remember feeling utter and complete shock--sadness, sure--but it was overpowered by the most extreme shock. How is it fathomable that we could live in a world where this could ever happen? Gun attacks are unwarranted anywhere--but an elementary school? It ripped the breath from my body, and I was incapable of crying any tears. I was completely, speechlessly dumbfounded.

You might have seen the following video circulating, via Buzzfeed. In it, sweet Emilie's mom walks us through the past year of life without her precious six-year-old daughter, and the absence of her irreplaceable spirit. It was so beautifully presented, and I pray that each of the victims of this horrendous day, and their continually grieving families, are somehow, some way, unveiling a sense of peace, and finding a way to glorify their lost.

May they all rest peacefully.
