Happy first day of spring! I have been salivating over some warmer weather wear for weeks now (whoaaaa, alliteration train), and the teasing of sunshine that's been smattering the forecast lately is sort of pissing me off. Commit already, you know what I'm saying?
The unparalleled, best part of the seasons actually changing in Tennessee (second to the ridiculous, fiery glow of the fall leaves) would have to be the presence of that elusive third season.
I believe I've learned you call it "spring."
Being from Texas, we aren't familiar with such a concept... we're braving the hazards of a 1/2" of ice on the road, a week later, the bluebonnets sprawl their way across the pastures, and then you're scorching your own thigh skin on your car seats for roughly the next four months.
And to celebrate this ongoing adjustment in my life, I will be dressing accordingly.
There are a handful of elements I will definitely be rocking this spring--one of my favorites right now is anything perforated. And the laser-cut duds. Love me some laser-cut. That cream satchel from Sole Society has my name written all over it. And those camel shooties are just the most gorgeous shoes I've ever seen (have you ever ordered from Sole Society? I am about to tear up that site). And I intended to snag that floppy fedora from Target last year, and never did. So, that will be happening soon.
Lacy and flouncy tops still have a heavy prevalence in my wardrobe--I especially love the olive lace blouse from Anthro. And I'm borderline obsessed with J. Crew's casual t-shirts this season. I live in their shorts each summer... I'm embarrassed to admit that I was about to click on through to order a couple pair last night, realized I don't actually recall what all colors I own, so I need to proceed to dig out the summer clothes this weekend to take inventory before I add to the stock (ahem, something I was clearly too lazy to do last night amidst my Mad Men refresher and ice cream binge with ST). And I will still spend a lot of time in the J. Brand jeggings while it's warming up. Those things are the absolute best.
So, it's safe to say that my debit card will be getting some exercise this weekend. What do you plan to buy for spring?
